I must say Mr. Rausch, that I’m really enjoying My Blacks Don’t Match. I don’t know all that much about SullenGrey besides this story (I’d heard about it and had seen SG-related bits and pieces online before, but it was your work on ELDRITCH! that really enticed me into rapidly becoming a rather big fan your art stylings), but it’s cool that the storyline has been set up in such a way that I don’t require prior SG knowledge to get into it. Having said that though, my interest is certainly piqued in regards to checking out the older SG stuff.
The storyline here is unfolding in a very enticing manner, and the art is fantastic — definitely the sort of inspirational stuff that makes me think to myself that I need to get to work on stepping up my game as a comic-artist type person.
Thanks Max! Glad you’re enjoying this little trip through surreality.
One of my favorite things about reading comics as a little monster thing was that I could just pick up an issue and still be able to enjoy it without having read anything before it. That’s something Jocelyn and I definitely set out to do. You might feel a little lost at times, but it’s the feeling of uncertainty that’s part of the fun.
